The Seven Steps to Success

by chandru @ 01. Nov 2005 - 18:17:47

=>A lot of people in the world believe that to be successful in life they must grab what they want. But they learn through bitter experience that what you sow, you shall reap. If you take from others, others are bound to take from you sooner or later.

The positive side of the coin is that, the more we give, the more we get! And this is not just in terms of material things, but also in terms of our feelings and behavior. The seven steps of success are, therefore, all about giving.

We must first, give to our fellowmen, Honesty. This is because the world of lies is a vicious cycle. You enter it with one small lie. But if you have to get out of it, you will have to lie again, and again, and so on, thus going deeper each time. Giving honesty doesn't just mean speaking the truth. It also means practicing it in our day to day activities, our work and our lives. Truth in practice is called righteousness, because when we practice truth, what we do will always be right.

The second step to success is to give to our fellowmen our Respect. Our respect for a person must not depend on his achievements, money or social status. We must learn to respect a person what he is without passing a judgment. Only then can we be free from the judgments of others. Giving respect to others costs nothing, but it is one of the most valuable tools to success in life.

The third step to success is to give people your Trust. We must learn to trust other people with our belongings, our tasks and our responsibility. Too much of suspicion leads to a fallout among one's own people. By giving a person your trust, you are not only giving him immense pleasure, but also inspiring him to be worthy of that trust. Those who have your trust will want to be better people because of this. It is therefore a great gift to give to someone and a sure step to success.

In this fast paced world man is discovering new and more interesting things by the day. But Humanity has lost a part of itself, the ability to Care. By caring for a fellow human being, we may or may not beget money and property, but we will definitely be richer in character. Caring for a person does not mean hugging him or buying him gifts. It means the ability to feel the pain or loss of a fellow human being. We must be able to feel the loss of the Tsunami victims. We will be less than human if we turn away from it all just because we were not affected by it.

True success has no strings attached to it. It does not come with a price, but with a feeling of contentment that we have given our best to a general cause. Co-operation too is a step towards success. The idea of a one man army does not always work. Man is a social animal and the society is his home. That is why the more we cooperate with each other for a cause, the better are our chances to success.

There is nothing this world needs more than passionate people. Due to the constant hustle and bustle of our busy lives, many people lose interest in what they are doing and no more have any zest for life. By giving them our Passion and by being passionate ourselves, we will help ignite the spark of creativity and energy in others. This will help the individual grow as a person and will fire you up as well:!:

There is no greater reward for helping somebody than the gratitude that you receive from them. Being grateful to others for what they have given you is the best way of returning their love. :D
