It is how you react to what happens to you, especially when you have unexpected problems of any kind. We hope, these strategies you can use to keep yourself thinking and acting positively and creatively. Here are four things you can do to assure that your attitude is the very best it can be, under all circumstances.
First, whatever challenges you face, focus on the future rather than on the past. Instead of worrying about who did what and who is to blame, focus on where you want to be and what you want to do. Get a clear mental image of your ideal successful future, and then take whatever action you can to begin moving in that direction. Get your mind, your thoughts, and your mental images on the future.
Second, whenever you’re faced with a difficulty, focus on the solution rather than on the problem. Think and talk about the ideal solution to the obstacle or setback, rather than wasting time rehashing and reflecting on the problem. Solutions are inherently positive, whereas problems are inherently negative. The instant that you begin thinking in terms of solutions, you become a positive and constructive human being.
Third, assume that something good is hidden within each difficulty or challenge. It is an major proponent of positive thinking. “Whenever God wants to give us a gift, he wraps it up in a problem.” The bigger the gift you have coming, the bigger the problem you will receive. But the wonderful thing is that if you look for the gift, you will always find it.
Fourth, assume that whatever situation you are facing at the moment is exactly the right situation you need to ultimately be successful. This situation has been sent to you to help you learn something, to help you become better, to help you expand and grow.
A Positive Mental Attitude is indispensable to your success. You can be as positive as you want to be if you will simply think about the future, focus on the solution and look for the good. If you do what other successful people do, if you use your mind to exert mental control over the situation, you will be positive and cheerful most of the time. And you will reap the benefits enjoyed by all successful people.
Finally, Make a habit of looking for the answers to your questions, the solutions to your problems. Seek for the valuable lesson in every adversity. Make a list of every idea or insight you can gain from every setback or difficulty. Think on paper. Take some time to write out every detail of the problem, and then take the most logical next step to solve it. We hope these pointers may help you to be a super attitude person.

You have classes to attend and hours of studying afterwards await you. So how do you fight that fatigue and look good at the same time? Here are some easy steps which will help you.

Don’t remain in one position for too long. When you sit down to study, don’t keep working while sitting in the same position. This will drain you of your energy. Get up every one hour if only to walk around the room. If you are working on a computer, look around you to give your eyes a break.

Have a glass of water and then start working again. Water is essential and you should have at least six to eight glasses a day. Liquid intake is necessary if you want to keep your skin looking young and vibrant. Intense work without liquids makes the skin look sallow.

Never carry your classroom stress back with you. Concentrate on the subject syllabus. Don’t worry about how you’re going to cope with all that study material. Make a schedule for yourself and follow it through.

Did you know that even a 10-minute nap has the power to refresh you? Cushion your head on your arms, close your eyes and stretch your legs. You can do this after every hour or so while you are sitting at your study table.

At night, make sure you get at least six hours of sound sleep. A glass of hot milk taken at bedtime may help. A bath before going to bed is a good way of winding down from the stress of the day. Avoid watching television before bedtime. Listen to your favourite light music and do not to take unnecessary medicines like sleeping pills.

For a constant flow of energy, your body needs a proper diet. Try to avoid foods rich in oil. Don’t live off junk food. Fruits and green vegetables are essential if you want to rev up those concentration levels.

Take some time off to exercise. Walk, dance or go for a run. It all counts. Keep your study times short and frequent Study for short bursts of no longer than two hours and then take a break. Never force yourself to study when you don’t want to. Take a breather and come back to the subject at hand

To become a flexible reader, you need to know how to selectand use a reading style that is consistent with your purpose for reading. There are three important reading styles you should learn to use. Each has its own purpose. Knowing when and how to use these three reading styles will make you a flexible reader. Read to learn about the three reading styles used by flexible readers.

Study Reading is the reading style used by flexible readers when their purpose is to read difficult material at a high level of comprehension. When using the Study Reading style, you should read at a rate that is slower than your normal reading rate. Further, as you read you must challenge yourself to understand the material. Study Reading will often require you to read material more than once to achieve a high level of comprehension. Sometimes, reading the material aloud will also help you improve your comprehension.

Skimming is the reading style used by flexible readers when their purpose is to quickly obtain a general idea about the reading material. The Skimming style is most useful when you have to read a large amount of material in a short amount of time. When using the Skimming style, you should identify the main ideas in each paragraph and ignore the details in supportive sentences. Because you are only looking for the main idea in each paragraph you read, a lower level of comprehension is to be expected than when using the Study Reading style.

Scanning is the reading style used by flexible readers when their purpose is to quickly locate a specific piece of information within reading material. The piece of information to be located may be contained in a list of names, words, numbers, short statements, and sometimes even in a paragraph. Since you know exactly what you are looking for, move your eyes quickly over the reading material until you locate the specific piece of information you need to find.

Before you begin your next reading assignment, identify your purpose for reading. Decide if you are reading for a high level of comprehension, trying to get a general idea about what you are reading, or looking for specific information. Then use the reading style that is appropriate for your reading purpose.
We certainly hope the above information will help you in developing the skills how to become a flexible reader.

Success is not an accident – success is a good habit. We hope these smart habits can work wonders in your life.
Get prepared: Make like a boy scout, and get prepared. Choose one thing that tends to jump out at you unexpectedly, and make a plan to prepare for it. Once that’s in place, choose another one. Prepare for getting more education and a better job, prepare for starting your own business.

Develop Routines: You already have routines, but are they helping you or hurting you? Staying up late and dragging around all the next day is a routine that’s contaminating not only your physical health but your mental and emotional health as well. Having a routine to work on clutter control 15 minutes a day contributes to your desire for a clean uncluttered life.

Just Say No: Say No to chocolate if you’re trying to lose weight. Say No to mindless TV if you want to get a degree or to achieve a goal. Say No to doing other people’s work. When you can’t say No to people and things, you end up feeling frustrated and resentful. When you say YES to what’s important to you, then you feel fulfilled and energetic and in control.

Stop striving for perfection: That’s just an excuse to procrastinate, and you know it. Filing your personal papers doesn’t have to be in color coded, typed folders. A simple system that you understand and can actually use is what’s important. Strive for progress, not perfection.

Clean up your mind diet: It’s a fact that whatever you spend your time focusing on is what you’ll have lots of in your life. Dwelling on the problem doesn’t take you closer to the solution. If you put junk into your mind all day, you’ll be sick.

Practice small steps: Make your life easier by learning to break all goals down into small steps. The idea is that you are moving forward, slowly and steadily. Use the analogy of a skyscraper. It was built brick by brick, one at a time. So are your goals. Concentrate on what you can do, like reading of two pages of everyday You’ll be surprised at how fast it will be finished.

Consistency: Perhaps the most important of all the habits is to be consistent in whatever you do. Being consistent is what makes or breaks great people and great lives. Anyone who is organized works on it consistently, not “whenever”. Anyone who is in good physical shape, works on it consistently, not hit-or-miss. It’s more about making a new habit, than it is the intensity of it at the beginning. Once the habit is instilled, it will be much easier to raise the intensity.

  Comments

ENGINNERS VS DOCTORS

Engineers and 7 Doctors are going from PUNE to Mumbai. So both groups gather at Pune Station.

Both groups are desperately trying to prove their superiority.

SCENE 1 (PUNE- MUMBAI):
-------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- -
7 engineers take only 1 Ticket and 7 doctors buy all 7 tickets..
Doctors are desperately waiting for TC to come......
When TC arrives,
All 7 Engineers get in one toilet so when TC knocks, one hand come out with the ticket and the TC goes

Away....

NOW on return Journey All of them don't get a direct Train to PUNE. So they all decide to take a Passenger till Lonavala, from there they can easily get a LOCAL to PUNE

SCENE 2 (MUMBAI - LONAVALA):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------
Doctors decided, "this time we will prove that we too are equal"....All 7 Doctors take 1 Ticket Engineers don't buy any ticket at all!!!!!..

TC arrives....

ALL DOCTORS IN ONE TOILET.ALL ENGINEERS IN THE OPPOSITE.

One engineer gets out and knocks the door of Doctors toilet, One hand comes with the tickets, he takes the
ticket and comes in Engg. Bathroo! m... TC DRIVES out ALL the doctors from the toilet and they are heavily fined.

SCENE 3 ( LONAVALA):!
-----------------------------------------
SO now both the group r on LONAVALA station. Doctors planning their move for last chance, they board the loc al to Pune.

This time doctors decide that they will play the same (1 ticket) trick.

ALL Doctors take 1 tickets...Engineers BUY all 7 tickets this time...
SO TC Comes.. All Engineers showed their tickets ................... ....

Doctors are still searching for toilet in the LOCAL train...........

Conclusion: Technically intelligent people are geniuses, don't mess with Engineers.

  Comments

PERSONAL HYGIENE

One of the most effective ways we have to protect ourselves from ill effects of health risk is good personal hygiene. Personal hygiene is the first step to good grooming and good health. Elementary cleanliness is common knowledge. Neglect causes problems that you may not even be aware of.

Many people with bad breath are blissfully unaware of it. Some problems may not be your fault at all, but improving standards of hygiene will control these conditions.

Poor oral hygiene and infection of gums often results in a bad odour emanating from the mouth. This is called halitosis. Proper brushing of the teeth and oral care can get rid of bad breath. There can be other reasons for bad breath. Cold, sinuses, throat infection or tonsils can cause bad breath. It means being careful not to cough or sneeze without any protection.

Body odour: The body has nearly two and half million sweat glands. These glands produce three quarts to one pint of sweat in a day. In tropical countries, naturally, more sweat is produced. The perspiration level increases with an increase in physical exertion.

Fresh perspiration, when allowed to evaporate does not cause body odour. An offensive smell is caused when bacteria that are present on the skin get to work on the sweat and decompose it. Diet influences the odour too.

Two baths a day, with liberal lathering and change of clothes in close contact with the body should take care of the problem. Talcum powder or deodorants or antiperspirants can be used. Most skin deodorants contain an antiperspirant, such as aluminum chloride, which reduces sweating by forming a hydroxide gel in the sweat ducts. But sweat suppressed in one area, comes out in another.

The world around us swarms with microorganisms. Some bacteria are found on our bodies. Where food is eaten and prepared with bare hands extra attention has to be paid to the cleanliness of hands. Besides, a permanent layer of dust or grime reduces the sensitivity of the hands.

Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after every meal and after visiting the toilet. Soaping and rinsing should cover the areas between fingers, nails and back of the hand. Hands should be dried with a clean towel after wash.

Things to remember, use gloves as protection while handling waste items otherwise you might be at risk of catching an infection. Good personal hygiene is one of the most effective ways to protect others and us from many illnesses.

  Comments

FACTS ON INDIA

As Indians, we can be good citizens of our country only by first being proud of our country. Only when we develop a sense of pride, we will work towards the welfare of the society and the development of the land.

Some of you may ask, ‘what is it that we have to be proud of? What is so special about this land?’ If one were to answer this question completely, even a thousand pages would not be sufficient.

But here are some facts that will not only surprise you, but will also give you a glimpse of the greatness of our motherland, its culture, its wisdom and its phenomenal achievements in all fields;

1. India never invaded any country in her last 10000 years of history.
2. India invented the Number System. Zero was invented by Aryabhatta.

3. The World's first university was established in Takshila in 700BC. More than 10,500 students from all over the world studies more than 60 subjects. The University of Nalanda built in the 4th century BC was one of the greatest achievements of ancient India in the field of education.
4. Sanskrit is the mother of all the European languages. Sanskrit is the most suitable language for computer software – a report in Forbes magazine, July 1987.

5. Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to humans.
6. Charaka, the father of medicine consolidated Ayurveda 2500 years’ ago. Today Ayurveda is fast regaining its rightful place in our civilization.

7. Although modern images of India often show poverty and lack of development, India was the richest country on earth until the time of British invasion in the early 17th Century.
8. The art of Navigation was born in the river Sindh 6000 years ago. The very word Navigation is derived from the Sanskrit word NAVGATIH. The word navy is also derived from Sanskrit 'Nou'.

9. Bhaskaracharya calculated the time taken by the earth to orbit the sun centuries before the astronomer Smart. Time taken by earth to orbit the sun: (5th century) 365.258756484 days.
10. The value of "pi" was first calculated by Budhayana, who explained the concept of what is known as the Pythagorean theorem. He discovered this in the 6th century long before the European mathematicians.

And this, my dear friends is barely the tip of the iceberg. Be proud to be Indian.

  Comments

DISADVANTAGE OF PAMPERING

To overindulge in favours where children are involved leads to pampered brats. This causes inconvenience to parents who after years of over pampering face facts.
When a child behaves in an impudent manner, the cause is deeper than the situations that the parents have to handle. The child ignores and defies all rules set by his parents. The child does not behave properly and is often disobedient. It is far convenient to call such a child naughty. Impatience in dealing with children leads to over pampering them. It is when adults want to wriggle out of counselling session that they hurriedly ‘bribe’ the child with sweetmeats and gifts.

That’s when the disadvantages of over pampering strike. Children need nurturing. For that, parents need to be patient, especially regarding childlike behaviour and growing up blues. Parents may give choices to help children make better decisions. The child should have a positive attitude towards life and should be ready to take up future challenges.

Nuclear families are becoming increasingly popular with time. While both parents are earning members in the family and help the financial status of a family, children are seen to be less adaptable and need counselling. Parents are unable to communicate with their own kith and kin and to compensate, fill the toy room with new arrivals from the market. Here, the family elders can play a very important role in a child’s life. They can help the child to express emotions and deal with these kinds of situations.

Teaching a child that actions have consequences is one of the most important lessons a parent or teacher can convey. Understanding the consequences that their own actions will have for themselves and others is the first step; children need to take in order to learn to take responsibility for their own actions, to think before they act, and to respect authority. Therefore, as a form of discipline, the removal of privileges should not be haphazard and aimed simply at punishing a child. Instead the privileges removed should be logically related to the misbehavior and designed to teach the lesson that actions have consequences.

Many parents, especially those who didn’t have many luxuries when growing up, want their children to enjoy the wealth that they worked so hard. If you give your child everything he wants on demand, he will grow up believing the world owes him a living, and will find it hard to cope when realizes it doesn’t.

When children are born, they are like blank slates on which their parents’ help to script the beginnings of the stories of their lives. Every child grows up and ultimately charts his own destiny, but his parents lay the foundation. And everybody knows the consequences of building on a weak foundation. Disciplining children is one way of setting them on the right path and equipping them to wing it on their own.

Years of perseverance from parents and elders will ensure children, who can be happy individuals when they grown up.

The lecturer was happy to see them. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

The Lecturer just smiled and went to the kitchen to get an assortment of cups - some porcelain, some in plastic, some in glass, some plain looking and some looked rather expensive and exquisite.

The Lecturer offered his former students the cups to get drinks for themselves.

When all the students had a cup in hand with water, the Lecturer spoke: "If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal that you only want the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all you wanted was water, not the cup, but we unconsciously went for the better cups."

"Just like in life, if Life is Water, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold/maintain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change."

"If we only concentrate on the cup, we won't have time to enjoy/taste the water in it."

Thinking seems to be a continuous and ongoing activity. The restless mind lets thoughts come and go incessantly from morning till night. They give us no rest for a moment. Most of these thoughts are not exactly invited; they just come, occupy our attention for a while, and then disappear.

Our true essence can be likened to the sky, and our thoughts are the clouds. The clouds drift through the sky, hide it for a while and then disappear. They are not permanent. So are thoughts. Because of their incessant movement they hide our essence, our core, and then move away to make room for other thoughts.

Thoughts resemble the waves of the ocean, always in a state of motion never standing still. Some people think incessantly about a certain subject, always haunting the mind while others never think about it. The human mind has the capacity to access his thoughts in liking and disliking certain things according to his desires. It likes to compare, to reason, and to ask questions. It constantly indulges in these activities. Ones thoughts cannot coincide with others.

This activity of the restless mind occupies our attention all the time. We pay a lot of energy and attention towards certain thoughts that are not important. They just waste our time and energy. We enjoy freedom only when we are able to still the mind and choose our thoughts. We live in freedom, when we are able to stop the incessant flow of thoughts.

Stopping the flow of thoughts may look infeasible, bu training and exercising with concentration and meditation, eventually lead to this condition. Every human being has the power to control his mind. It can be taught self-discipline and obedience to a higher power. Concentration and meditation show us in a clear and practical manner that we, the inner true essence, are this controlling power. We are the bosses of our minds

Mankind has attempted ways and means to accumulate principles and facts. Means to communicate information can be vital to enhance knowledge. Libraries have stored knowledge in the form of books for years. But new technology has improved the skills of compiling, storing and displaying this vast amount of data. Accessibility to this technology and consequently this has now become possible.

In today's economy, knowledge to people is money, leverage, learning, flexibility, power, and competitive advantage. Knowledge is more relevant to sustained business than capital, labour or land. Nevertheless, it remains the most neglected asset. It is more than a justified true belief and is essential for action, performance and adaptation. Knowledge provides the ability to respond to novel situations.

A holistic view considers knowledge to be present in ideas, judgments, talents, root causes, relationships, perspectives and concepts. Knowledge is stored in the individual’s brain or encoded in organizational processes, documents, products, services, facilities and systems.

Knowledge is the basis for our growth and the driver of our post-industrial economy. It is the result of learning which provides the only sustainable competitive advantage. Knowledge is the next paradigm shift in computing data processing and information management. Knowledge is action, focused innovation, pooled expertise, special relationships and alliances. It is also value-added behavior.

Computer science has changed the outlook of the century. All that needs to be done is proper application of this technology to benefit the vast population of the world. The three major divisions of higher middle and lower income groups need to understand the value of this power. Today, a common villager in India has access to bank loans, and weather forecasts. This enables him to sow his invaluable hybrid seeds to reap a bumper harvest. Therefore, we can assimilate knowledge and increase our intellect if we persevere towards our set defined goal.

To apply knowledge is to attempt to gather the vast amount of information available in the world today. We are on a quest to improve ability to compile knowledge. This pursuit is on and very much permissible.

  Comments

AS REGULAR AS SUNRISE

“Nothing comes from nothing, Nothing ever good………..”

So goes the popular song of yesteryears. This is a very true dear friend. A good thought, word or action leads to another good behaviour. We are all the recipients of the fruits of the hard work and good habits of important persons in our lives.

Habits! A much-used word, which means any behaviour, that is in practice or regular use. It also means a compulsive need. Habits can be both positive and negative which we respectively identify as Good or Bad Habits.

How do we identify habits as good or bad? Practices, which help us to become more productive, successful which help us to become better persons are good for us. On the contrary, practices, which harm us or those around us, become stumbling blocks in progress, which have a negative effect on us are bad.

Change is the only constant in life. Yet there are some things, which are best, left unchanged. Such is the quality of a good practice, which often leads the individual to greater heights than otherwise. People from different walks of life need different sets of positive habits. These are better learnt when young. The popular saying goes that a child is never too young to form good habits.

So, first as always, in the lineup of good habits comes getting up early. This has several advantages each of which leaves you with a positive satisfaction on each day you rise early. Consequently, this brings you closer to success. A refreshing bath to begin, nutritious food, physical exercise and good sleep are all healthy habits that lead to a healthy body and mind.

Besides these, there are other practices such as honestly facing your positive and negative qualities. Self-knowledge equips you with a better understanding of yourself and also to reach more realistic goals for the future. Planning your time for the day, week, month and year, and setting achievable goals is a habit, which gives unfailing results. This allows a long-term view of yourself, your future, and helps you identify which activity comes before and which follows.

However, developing a good habit requires regular practice of any of the above activities. An important cause of the failure of a good habit being formed is dawdling. Dawdling is either wasting time or being unable to focus on your goal. Leaving loose ends while achieving goals is another thing, why a good habit is not formed. Every goal has other ancillary goals which one should have to make a habit of completing without which the main goal seems incomplete. For example when you are studying for the 12th class you should make sure there are no gaps in your knowledge of all the previous years.

Finally ones good habits beget good results.

  Comments

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?

All things in life have a purpose. Right from the tiny mitochondria that live inside each cell to the huge mountains, they all serve some higher purpose than to simply exist. All the other beings in the world perform their pre-assigned tasks by instinct. But we, as humans have the power to identify our purpose in life and work towards performing it with perfection.

But the only problem is, many of us do not know the answer to the question, ‘What is my purpose?’

This is a question that troubles most young men and women, and sometimes, even adults. It sets them thinking and when there is no immediate answer, it worries them. All human beings perform some task or the other and contribute at some basic level to the society. But only those people who are clear about their purpose in life are able to achieve great things and become better people.

As students, this is the right time and age to find out and identify your purpose in life. The moment the question arises in you, you must begin to search within yourself and around you for the answer. Finding your purpose in life is neither impossible nor too difficult. All it requires is a keen sense of observation and a little bit of instinct.

The first step towards finding your purpose is to observe those who have found their achievements. Each of us knows some people in our lives whom we respect, adore or admire for what they are or what they have achieved. You may begin by observing such people and asking them how they knew that this is what they wanted to do. By doing this, you will not only understand the importance of having a purpose, but will also be inspired to search harder.

Second, you will need to write down all those things that you wish to achieve in the future. It may be your childhood dreams or something that you wish to become. Once you have written this down, identify that dream or goal that is most important to you from the list. In all probability, that will be your purpose in life.

But the story does not end once you have found out your purpose or goal. It is now that it truly begins. Once you have answered this question, you must motivate yourself to achieve it as soon as possible. And in the process, you must learn to help and inspire others while you fulfill your purpose.

It is said, that to be born as a human is a very rare event, for we are currently at the top of the pyramid of evolution. Therefore, each of us is important to the society in which we live in. And, unknown to us, we will realize our purpose with or without our effort. But the sooner we do so, the better we become as citizens and individuals.

  Comments

TOO MUCH LOVE

Aloke, an only son of higher socioeconomic parents was in the 8th class and attended a good school in the city. His mother most willingly arranged for all personal needs such as brushing teeth, bathing, made his favourite breakfast, put out his uniform and other things needed for school, packed his school books and bag, then woke him for school about half an hour before school time His father dropped him to school in his car before leaving to his office.
All Aloke needed to do was go to school and study. Back from school he would leave his bag in the living room when he went home, his shoes and clothes wherever he changed and his toys where he played. His mother willingly put them away for him. She reasoned that he would learn them automatically. Whatever his demand chocolates, toys or entertainment it was satisfied immediately without effort and he had many things that many other children did not have.
He worked when felt like and just managed to go from one class to next with the marks that he acquired. He often lost his books at school which his father replaced without much effort. At such times his mother would help rewrite all the notes he has lost. Well! What went wrong? His teacher told Aloke’s mother that he was careless in his work, and his uniform was never in its place and untidy most of the time. At home his mother knew that he spent more time watching Television and playing.
His parents were not very happy the way he was shaping but were at a loss to explain it. They had given him everything then why was he not performing at school better? Have you noticed by now, that Aloke made very little to put appropriate effort and was unused to being responsible and haven't think about others even his parents. He was accustomed to receiving love and not to giving it.
Today, the trend is small nuclear families wherein there are two children or an only child. With technology stepping in, parents are also left with lots of free time and money. Due to improper ways to utilize this time and money properly, parents invest them in their children, which backfires in a way and leaves them astonished.
Too much love spoils children. They become accustomed to large doses of love only making them unable to be satisfied with smaller amounts of love later in life. Since there is very little that they do to themselves. They do not see themselves as capable persons. Their confidence in themselves is affected making them incapable of facing life’s problems alone.
Such a child becomes over dependent for his needs, focusing his attention on himself all the time. This makes him selfish and lacking the motivation to express affection for others. In today’s trend where there is the need for greater soft skills, he may later present a negative picture which could lead to maladjustment.

His birthday was coming up and he thought this was a good time to tell his
mother what he wanted.
"Mom, I want a bike for my birthday." Little Bobby was a bit of a
troublemaker.
He had gotten into trouble at school and at home. Bobby's mother asked him
if he thought he deserved to get a bike for his birthday. Little Bobby, of course, thought he did.

Bobby's mother wanted Bobby to reflect on his behavior over the last year.
"Go to your room, Bobby, and think about how you have behaved this year.

Then write a letter to God and tell him why you deserve a bike for your
birthday." Little Bobby stomped up the steps to his room and sat down to
write God a letter.

Letter 1
Dear God,
I have been a very good boy this year and I would like a bike for my
birthday. I want a red one.
Your friend,
Bobby

Bobby knew that this wasn't true. He had not been a very good boy this year,
so he tore up the letter and started over.

Letter 2
Dear God,
This is your friend Bobby. I have been a good boy this year and I would like
a red bike for my birthday.
Thank you.
Your friend Bobby

Bobby knew that this wasn't true either. So, he tore up the letter and
started again.

Letter 3
Dear God,
I have been an "OK "boy this year. I still would really like a bike for my
birthday.
Bobby

Bobby knew he could not send this letter to God either. So, Bobby wrote a
fourth letter.

Letter 4
God,
I know I haven't been a good boy this year. I am very sorry. I will be a
good boy if you just send me a bike for my birthday. Please!
Thank you,
Bobby

Bobby knew, even if it was true, this letter was not going to get him a
bike.

Now, Bobby was very upset. He went downstairs and told his mom that he
wanted to go to church. Bobby's mother thought her plan had worked, as Bobby
looked very sad.
"Just be home in time for dinner," Bobby's mother told him.

Bobby walked down the street to the church on the corner. Little Bobby went
into the church and up to the altar. He looked around to see if anyone was
there. Bobby bent down and picked up a statue of the Mary. He slipped
the statue under his shirt and ran out of the church, down the street, into
the house, and up to his room. He shut the door to his room and sat down
with a piece of paper and a pen. Bobby began to write his letter to God.

Letter 5
God,
I'VE KIDNAPPED YOUR MOM . IF YOU WANT TO SEE HER AGAIN,
SEND THE BIKE! !!!!!!!!!

Whether it is a piece of furniture, a computer, a vehicle or even our own body and mind, they all need to be maintained for as long as we use them.

Maintenance is usually understood as performing some repairs in case of some problem. It is common practice to wait until something goes wrong and then fix it by tightening a screw, reformatting an operating system or popping some pills. But we have to think, it lacks common sense? It is said that prevention is better than cure. What we need therefore is a kind of maintenance that will prevent, rather than cure.

Preventive maintenance is one such concept that is catching on in the world today. It is being applied in the management world to a large extent and is being used on a daily basis by professionals as well.

As the name suggests, preventive maintenance is the process of avoiding problems in the system by keeping it is good shape. The basic principle behind preventive maintenance is to spend some time at regular intervals to check, clean and spruce up the system.

Preventive maintenance can be used on ourselves too. We usually ignore the needs of our body like proper food and exercise, until we become sick and are treated for the illness. Similarly, we ignore the needs of our mind, like rest and timely stimulation, and end up with hypertension or nervous imbalance.

But by practicing preventive maintenance, our body and mind will not only be consistently fit, we can also save the trouble of being sick.

There are many advantages of preventive maintenance over conventional maintenance. One is that it makes life much more economically. A timely check up and a regular maintenance of the system may cost a bit. But it will definitely be cheaper than the time and money that will be spent in repairs and recovery otherwise.

Another important advantage is that through preventive maintenance, the efficiency of the machine, the tool or the individual is consistent. It does not reduce until it crashes down for repair, as it is the case with the usual form of maintenance.

All one needs to do is determine the timetable of maintenance and remember to do it at that specific time. For example, regular exercise, timely rest, occasional medical check ups and proper diet all constitute preventive maintenance of our body and mind

  Comments

THE CHOICES YOU MAKE

Life is full of a great number of things. Things that we can see and touch and those that we simply feel. Some of these things we call good and some are considered bad. And how our life will be depends on what we choose.

Let us take a small incident for example. A man wakes up one hour late on one morning because his alarm fails
to ring. These are the two ways in which his day could unfold:

Scenario 1: He rushes to the bathroom and does everything with extreme hurry. In the process he cuts himself while he shaves. He blames the blade for the mistake and dresses hurriedly and comes down for breakfast.

During breakfast, his little girl spills coffee on his shirt. He scolds his daughter for being careless for 10 minutes and then goes back up to change. His daughter begins crying. He pacifies her and finds that his daughter has missed the school bus because of his little lecture. So he drops his daughter in school and then rushes to the office. The boss is mad at him because he is late and forces more work on him.

He works over time and comes home. His wife welcomes him. He vents the anger he feels for his boss on his wife. She scolds him back and leaves. He goes to bed, got-tired, unhappy, frustrated, irritated and totally stressed out.

Scenario 2: He goes to the bathroom and instead of rushing everything, concentrates on each task. Because he concentrated on his work, he shaves carefully and gets dressed as efficiently as possible and comes down for breakfast.

During breakfast, his daughter spills coffee on his shirt. He smiles at her, rubs her hair and asks her to be more careful next time. The daughter feels relieved but has learnt her lesson. He goes up quickly to change. When he comes down, his daughter waves smilingly at him as she boards her school bus. He goes a little late to the office, so the boss is not very angry.

He comes home slightly tired because of the work and pressure. His wife welcomes him. He in turn smiles at her and shares his day. She listens to him and helps him relax with some soothing words. He goes to bed, tired, but happy, contented and peaceful.

In both these instances, the situations were the same. He woke up late, had coffee spilt, faced an angry boss and had a hectic day. But what made the difference between the first and the second scenario is the choice he made of how to handle them.

Things go wrong many times in one's life. What matters is how you handle the difficulties. You can either get tensed up, angry and upset. Or you could simply take it as another interesting chapter of your life and smile through the day while you doing what you can

Because the first thing that most of the people do when they think they are in trouble, is worry.

We all know that it is impossible not to worry when we are face to face with a problem. Because it is human nature to reject, question or fear anything that is not normal. It is this part of human nature that makes a student become tensed up when he does not get the expected result for a problem or an experiment.

Also, worrying puts a lot of stress on the brain and reduces its capacity to think and reason. In today’s world, worry and anxiety are one of the most widespread mental conditions that affect human beings.

In short, we cannot help worrying about a problem. If we worry, we cannot function. And if we do not function properly, it will lead to more worry. Isn’t this a cause of worry as well! So what is the solution?

The answer lies in an age old quote, ‘everybody falls, what matters is how fast you can get up.’

The same principle must be applied to our worrying as well. It is true that our first reaction to a problem is worry. We cannot help it. But what we can do is slowly bring our mind to concentrate on the solution instead of the problem.

After the initial few seconds of tension, we must try and focus on all the advantages that we have in the situation. Focus on using the advantages to the fullest while keeping the disadvantages in a small corner of the memory.

This is called ‘Plus-Factor Tackling’. In other words, we tackle a problem by concentrating on the ‘positives’ of the situation. It helps to give a boost to your confidence and allows you to think with clarity and cool mind.

What important is the lessons that we can learn from the problems. These are what will determine success in future. We must not expect a problem to occur at every instance. But we must be prepared and ready to face anything that comes our way.

We have to choose whether we have to be strong or weakened by the problems. Some people think of problems as barriers to their success. These people cannot help worrying. Others think of them as challenges that they need to simply tackle and cross. Such people have no worries in life, for they are willing to face anything.

  Comments

LOVE LETTER

One of the best loveletter & its reply

Lady : Why do you like me..? Why do you love me?

Man : I can't tell the reason.. but I really like you..

Lady : You can't even tell me the reason... how can you say you like me? How can you say you love me?

Man : I really don't know the reason, but I can prove that I love you.

Lady : Proof? No! I want you to tell me the reason. My friend's boyfriend can tell her why
he loves her but not you!

Man : Ok..ok!!! Erm... because you are beautiful,

          because your voice is sweet,

          because you are caring,

          because you are loving,

          because you are thoughtful,

          because of your smile,

          because of your every movements.

The lady felt very satisfied with the man's
answer. Unfortunately, a few days later, the
Lady met with an accident and went into the coma stage .
The Guy then placed a letter by her side, and
here is the content:

Darling,

Because of your sweet voice that I love you...Now can you talk? No! Therefore I cannot love you.
Because of your care and concern that I like you.. Now that you cannot show them, therefore I cannot love you.

Because of your smile, because of your every movements that I love you..Now can you smile? Now can you move? No, therefore , I cannot love you...

If love needs a reason, like now, there is no reason for me to love you anymore.
Does love need a reason? NO!
Therefore, I still love you...
And love doesn't need a reason

With love always,

Forever yours.

Relationships are hard to handle......might even seem impossible at times.

There will be many fights and many quarrels,

many disagreements and many tears.....

The easiest thing would be to give up.

But if we spent half the energy we use in fighting with eachother,

and spend that energy in fighting to keep the relationship strong,

then that is love.

Remember, in a relationship, giving up is not the solution

Disagreements, fights and quarells will always be there.

But you must always fight harder to stay together.

Some fights are truly worth fighting !

" Sometimes the best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, cannot be touched, but can be
felt in the heart "

They are a close-knit unit. But sometimes, it becomes difficult to live as a group. This happens chiefly because of some negative emotions like jealousy and envy.
Academic success varies from student to student. This often causes a sense of envy among some students. This induces them to spread gossip about other students, or try to hamper their preparation. But in some cases, those friends who are usually very close to you turn a cold shoulder. They often become the ones who start and spread rumors and gossip.
So how do you handle such individuals in a group? It is not possible to stay away from them, as they are part of a single system. The best way to handle this situation is to involve them as well during preparation and study. This will let them know that you are in no way privileged with extra time and that the effort is equal.

Another interesting phenomenon is competition. Competition is both positive and negative. It rises out of a need to be better than someone else. When competition is negative, then one tries to ‘defeat’ the other by any means possible, including cheating. This is called one-upmanship. Here the goal is not to become better, but to become better than the other person.

Positive competition is healthy and must be encouraged among any group, including students. Here each individual of a group tries to improve his performance by putting more effort. This allows the person to develop as an individual as he tries to be one step ahead at every test.

Competing with yourself is the best way to deal with those around you. This allows you to do your own job without paying much attention to useless gossip or unnecessary tensions. This also acts as an example for others in the same group who always look at others to take the next step.

  Comments

BEING THE EARLY BIRD

There is a very famous saying that goes, ‘The early bird gets the worm’. Well, this saying is supposed to be as effective as it is famous. Many eminent people who have achieved a lot in their lives attribute their success to getting up early.

Rising even one hour early every day will give some extra energy, it will enable you to do things that you previously didn’t have time to do. For example, that one extra hour will enable you to learn a new language or read a little more or exercise or do a combination of the above. It therefore allows you to improve both your health and your intellect without too much of effort.

So what are you waiting for? All you need to do is set the alarm for 5:00 a.m everyday start getting up early. Simple isn’t it? But for most of us who try, all that happens is that we switch off the alarm and continue to sleep. As soon as the alarm rings, all you feel like doing, is shut off that irritating noise and get back to sleep. This is that case with most of us.

But despite what many people think, it is actually easy to set an early morning routine. All it needs is a little bit of will power and a little bit of time.
The first thing that most of us do if we need to get up early is to try and sleep early. But this method is not really effective. Though the logic behind it is that we need to sleep early to ensure the same amount of rest, it is not practical.

The best method is to wait until you are really sleepy and then go to bed at that time. The best way to know if you are actually sleepy is to read a book. When the body needs rest, it releases certain chemicals and liquids within that body that induce drowsiness. Thus if the body is sleepy, we will not be able to read more than one page without dozing off.

Every night, the last one-hour or so before we usually go to sleep, we must slowly prepare our body for it. We must avoid excessive physical activity and minimize our mental activity by simple reading.

We must then fix a time for waking up and stick to it all seven days of the week. The best way to wake up is to do it as fast as we can. As soon as the alarm rings, it is advisable to simply sit up and move on without thinking. By the time we begin brushing, we will feel fresh. The time we set for waking up must be non-negotiable. If the body needs more sleep, then it will make us sleepy earlier in the night. But we will always be able to wake up at the same time.

In short, we must sleep when we feel sleepy, but get up at the same fixed time every day. By doing this regularly, our body will not only adjust to becoming an early bird, it will also develop an internal alarm that will enable us to wake up in the absence of the actual alarm!

  Comments

WHY SMILE?

The best thing that we wear no matter what our age or where we are from, Whether it is a small child or an old man, a rich businessman or a poor flower seller, a smile is a pleasant sight indeed.

According to very recent psychological studies, we instinctively form the expressions that we see on other faces. For example, if we see the photo of a person who is frowning, our instinctive reaction will be to frown. In the same way, if we see someone smiling, then our facial muscles contract in a smile as well. Even if we consciously try to make the opposite expression, we sometimes fail.

Thus, when someone says that a smile is contagious, it is not a myth, but an actual fact. Smiling not only improves the general mood but is also an important factor in maintaining a good social relationship with others.

‘Only 7 muscles are used for smiling, but it takes more than 22 to frown.' I am sure all of you have heard this statement. It has actually been around for quite a long time. The earliest record of this statement is in a science journal dated 1936! But the fact is that no one knows if this is true. Over the years, the number of muscles has changed at every account. The number of muscles required for smiling or frowning have never been measured.

But whether the statement is true or not, it is definitely true that it is better to smile than to frown. It is a fact that you smile when you are in a good mood. But smiling can also create a good or favorable mood. When we are faced with a glum situation, by keeping our smile intact, we can avoid getting into a bad mood. Alternately, by constantly frowning, we may even induce a bad mood in us. Thus smiling could help avoid depression to an extent.

And now that you have so many scientific reasons to smile, I suggest you begin right away and make your day a brighter one!

       Ten things God won't ask:

1...God won't ask what kind of car you drove;
He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.

2...God won't ask the square footage of your house,
He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

3...God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet,
He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

4...God won't ask what your highest salary was,
He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

5...God won't ask what your job title was,
He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

6...God won't ask how many friends you had,
He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

7...God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived,
He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

8...God won't ask about the color of your skin,
He'll ask about the content of your character.

9...God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation,
He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

10...God won't ask how many people you forwarded this to,
He'll ask if you were ashamed to pass it on to your friends.

Read Carefully

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

Time and tide wait for none. This saying is very apt in our day-to-day life. Because of the fast pace of life today, we need to make instant decisions that affect those around us. We need to manage our lives and problems within minutes.
But the fact is, we do not need more than one minute to manage our lives. This is true even in the case of professionals and businessmen. Let us now find out the secret of the One Minute Manager.

In life, we manage both others and ourselves. But it is more important to manage ourselves than others. And that is why; the first task of the One-minute Manager starts with self-management.

One-minute planning. Before we begin each day, we must spend one minute of our time planning the day. In other words, we may prepare a list of the things that are to be done or taken care of that day. This will enable you to prioritize your work and do all that is necessary. This will also save a lot of time by avoiding unnecessary waiting or idling that may be caused due to lack of planning. Because of this one minute that we spend managing our time, our entire day will become streamlined.

The second one-minute management activity is one-minute praise. This means that we must always recognize the positive aspects of all those around us. When someone does something positive, good or helpful, then we must praise that person. This must be done in one minute and within one minute.

The magic of one-minute praise is that it gives an opportunity for you to recognize the good in others. It also allows the others to understand that you have good feelings towards them. By practicing one-minute praise, you enforce among your peers that if they do anything positive, then it will be recognized by you. This will encourage them to do good things and react positively around you.

The last one-minute management activity is one minute appraisal. This means that if someone behaves badly or does not live up to his standards, then you must appraise him. In other words, bad behavior or unexpected actions must be dealt immediately within one minute. By doing this, the individual who is at fault will instantly realize his mistake and correct it as soon as possible. This appraisal must be done in private and not in the presence of others. It is found to have positive effects.

Thus we see that for a positive and active life, we only need to spend one minute on our planning, praise and appraisal. Whether we need success in our endeavours or positive results in life, all it takes is one minute!

  Comments
